These boots were made for walking

Doc Martens. Iconic. Beautiful. Original.

My mum bought me a pair of these almost 2 years ago, and despite them looking pretty much new here I've wore them a lot. They go with anything, i can shove them on with jeans , leggings , dresses and they still make me feel that little bit more rock 'n' roll, I even wear them to work (I work in nandos) and they make me feel 100x cooler than I am. Recently we went to London and my friend was adamant he hated docs and said they were ugly- by the time we left he had been converted by my constant wearing of them and even admitted he might get some himself!  They're comfy and i've never had a bad day in them, I really can't sing their praises enough, if the day ever comes that they fall apart I'll instantly replace them. I also love what the whole brand represents and this brings me on to my pet peeve - this whole new fake , imitation craze thats going round (primark you're guilty here). I know I sound like a brand snob, I'm really not, I love a good primark buy as much as the next person, I just don't think that it's ok to rip off another brands hard work and image and almost lower the value of such hard work, I really don't. I also really dislike bright pink docs (real or otherwise). Anyways, rant over , beautiful boots forever on my feet.

Skincare

Skin Skin Skin.
As i'm getting older (hopefully not that old), I'm finally realising the importance of a skincare routine. I'm a girl that doesn't tend to wear makeup on a day to day basis and therefore thought it was time to invest in some good skincare products that would sort me out. Enter Kiehl's. A brand I've never really heard of until I saw a handsome bearded model tweet about it and then a shop pop up in Newcastle. I decided to pop in after reading some rave reviews online and see what the hype was about. The staff were lovely and asked me a few questions about my skin (it's quite dry and dehydrated at the moment) , I explained my current skincare routine was just a cleanser from Boots and usually waking up in last nights makeup. Surprisingly they didn't try to oversell me a cleanser and offered me a cucumber herbal toner and the ultra facial cream.

So , what are they like ?
The toner is designed for sensistive skin and is alcohol free (hooray!), and because of that doesn't really have a strong scent , its neither pleasant or unpleasant, but that's not really a big factor. The toner does feel your face leaving ultra refreshed  and hydrated and has tightened my pours over the past couple of weeks.

Next I put the ultra facial cream on, its fair to say I've completely fell in love with it . Once again this has no scent , but its super soft and silky when applying it , and a little goes a long way. I would say it's definitely recomennded for dry skin particularly. It leaves my face feeling dewy and refreshed and i've noticed it works quite well as a primer!

Overall ? I've fell head over heals for Kiehl's. A little bit pricey in comparison to everyday superdrug /boots products but well worth the money , and i can't wait to invest in a cleanser when mine runs out!
(Also the assistant gave me a tester fragrance of the nashi blossom and pink grapefruit fragrance and it smelt BEAUTIFUL) it's definitely on my next buy list!

Introductions

Hello , Bonjour, Ciao,

My name is Kerry Dixon , and I'm finally taking a serious stab at blogging.
Lets get the basics out the way , I'm 20 and currently in my third year studying psychology at Northumbria university in Newcastle. I'm 6ft 1 and I would say that this is a defining feauture of my personality. Self professed selfie queen
Where am I at with my style ? Who knows. I can easily be a jeans and a hoody type of girl, but i'l just easily dress up in a vintage shirt and full makeup.
My life is a beautiful mess, a mash of perfect moments clashed with a moments of stupidity and sadness. I wouldn't change a second of it.
